Shag - Improvers

New for DJam 2017, a Shag track at Improver Level.

To attend the DJam Collegiate Shag track, you should already know and be comfortable with basic, six-count, double time Shag footwork. Ideally you have been attending weekly classes for at least a few months and you have social danced Shag on many occasions.

In this Shag track, you will improve your connection, frame and other important technique points like stretch. You will spend time refining your footwork and posture so that you can become a more efficient dancer as well as being able to make sharper and more defined shapes on the dance floor. You will also learn some exciting sequences of moves/movements authentic to 1930's Collegiate Shag as well as many modern day evolutions of the dance.

Balboa Level 2

If you have some Balboa expereience but want to brush up on the fundamentals, then this class is for you.

We will focus on learning the fundamentals of balboa: the basic steps, hold and connection with your partner, and all the fundamental moves you will need to enjoy yourself in a social dance!

Balboa Level 3

You have been social dancing all of the key Balboa steps such as Cross Overs, Transition steps, Throw Out, Paddle, Lollies etc, plus a range of key Bal-Swing moves on a regular basis and take weekly Balboa classes and intermediate level workshops at Balboa Festivals.

You attend weekly Balboa classes and have been social dancing reguarly, as well as taking workshops at balboa festivals.

You can lead/follow complex Bal-Swing Steps with tricky footwork and don't feel afraid to dance with international teachers.
