PARKING

Recommended: Parking in a Nearby Multistorey Carpark
Walkergate Car Park (£6.00 all day, £1.50 evening): Leave the A1(M) at junction 62 (Durham City), then at roundabout take the 2nd exit onto Gilesgate & Claypath. At the next set of traffic lights, turn right into Providence Row. When the road forks, you will see Durham 6th Form College on your left, turn left into Freeman's Place & follow the road as it bends to the left.  When you see a 'No Entry' sign, turn left at the Premier Inn. Enter Walkergate Car Park.
Exit car park on the 6th Floor, and you're there!


Three Tuns Hotel

Free parking in the minutest of hotel car parks at the Three Tuns. Make sure you register your car details at the Hotel Reception to avoid clamping or a fine.


Marriot Hotel
If you are styaing at this hotel, then this is a good place to park. Parking is free at the moment (as at 4.11.11) but the hotel plans to put a reasonable parking parking charge in place soon.

Metered street parking just outside

40p for 30 minutes but these tend to be full. You might be lucky! (free after 6.30 pm and on Sundays)

Masonic Hall

Driving to the Masonic Hall: Leave the A1(M) at junction 62 (Durham City), then at roundabout take the 1st exit into Durham.  At the next roundabout, take the first exit into New Elvet, keeping left. At the traffic lights, turn left (see Marriot Hotel on left). The Masonic Hall is on your left, next to the Dun Cow pub.
