DJam Competiitions

The DJam Competitions hit the floor on Sunday.   

Entry is ONLY £5 per person for as many categories as you wish!

What’s up for grabs?

Special trophies & passes to awesome swing dance events around the UK! PLUS you will be adored, revered & rewarded both by the crowd & as a DJam Champion: a status afforded to very few!

Wanted

Dancers of all levels are invited to take part: Buzzed up Beginners with attitude, Intermediates who are in the mood, or awesomely Advanced. Want to show us how it’s done?

Come and strut your stuff but be warned the ceilings are low, so NO aerials, please!

Category 1: Jack and Jill ‘Newbie’ Lindy

If you've been dancing for less than one year and want to give competing a go, this category is for you! You'll be assigned a partner at random & as you progress through the rounds you'll have a new partner each time until the judges crown two of you the Newbie Champs! Exciting!
 

 Category 2: Solo Spotlight

If you like to move it solo style, show us what you've got! Authentic Jazz, Blues, Charleston, bring them all on! Any dance style featured at DJam is allowed.

Category 3: Jack and Jill Lindy

Dancing Lindy over a year and want to mix it up with the best of the bunch here at DJam? Register for this solo and you'll be assigned a random partner in each round until only the King and Queen of Lindy are left standing!
 

Category 4: Strictly Blues

ALL Levels encouraged! If Blues does it for you, then show us! Register as a couple.  The smoothest Blues couple will be King and Queen of the Blues.

Category 5: Strictly Balboa

ALL Levels encouraged!  Enter as a couple, show us your Balboa finesse! Pure Bal & Bal-Swing: the couple who capture & showcase the dance the most musically and flowingly will be crowned the winners.
 

Category 6: Strictly Lindy

ALL Levels encouraged!  Enter as a couple, wow us with your Swing-outs and more please - remember NO aerials though!

• Sunday 18:00: Prelims
• Sunday 23:00: Finals

How to Register

• Register with Nina or at DJam Reception by Sunday 12:00 noon.
• ONLY £5 per person for as many categories as you wish!
• Collect your competition number    
• Arrive at the Prelims with your number securely attached
